Please join us for a Genocide Commemoration event in Shanghai, China on Friday, April 24th at 7:00pm. It will be a day of Commemoration as well as a Celebration of Survival.
The event will include a photo timeline of the historical pictures and facts about the Armenian Genocide, ensued by the exhibition of pictures of famous Armenians and their contributions across the world. The exhibition will also include a special collection of art paintings created by the Chinese students of the Shanghai Art University with the theme of “24.04.1915 Through My Eyes”, dedicated to the 100th year of the Armenian Genocide Commemoration Day.
Next will be a classical concert of famous Armenian musical works of Komitas played by the Armenian, Chinese and international students from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. The concert will be followed by a professional performance of Armenian traditional dances and a screening of “The River Ran Red” documentary movie (with Chinese subtitles) by the famous Armenian-American ,Emmy-nominated filmmaker, Michael Hagopian.
A candlelight ceremony will conclude the evening of commemoration.
